Is apathy the cause of all the world's ills?
how much could we do to improve a situation that we just don't do because we don't care? people want the truth but they don't bother researching and finding it out, unless there's some specific reason to care. for example you probably wouldn't know anything about pancreatic cancer and how to cure it unless you or someone you know has been personally affected. and if you don't care, you won't act. sure, we WANT poverty to be eliminated, but how many people would be willing to give up their own money and lifestyle to acheive that end? Very few. we say we're good people and inside we probably believe it, but our collective actions are ones of INDIFFERENCE, and that in my mind is worse than intentionally doing the wrong thing. cause we trick ourselves into thinking there's nothing we can do, and thus preserve our 'good' self image, when infact we're so selfish that we can't be bothered doing the little we can to solve the world's problems. and since everyone thinks mostly only about themselves and their own, the world as a whole goes to hell.
