Any chance the recent Obama / Wright exchanges were planned?

Right now Obama distancing himself from Wright is the best move for the campaign. After weeks of silence Wright (a friend of 20 years) comes out and takes shots at Obama in a very odd, manner. Hmmmm. . . I find it hard to believe that Wright isn't just playing the fool to take one for the team and get Obama off the hook for the whole fiasco. It would be a great strategy if true. What do you all think?
